Handwriting Without Tears

Handwriting Without Tears is a program that assists students with varying disabilities to succeed at acquiring the handwriting skills that are necessary at the elementary level.  The program is proven to decrease the length of time a student receives services for occupational therapy evaluations along with the number of students receiving occupational therapy. 

 During the past school year, WashingtonSchool implemented Handwriting Without Tears into the daily teaching activities with the hope that this would assist our students in their handwriting skills.  A majority of WashingtonSchool students receive occupational therapy.  The implementation of Handwriting Without Tears is allowing occupational therapy services to be infused into the naturalistic environment of the classroom. 

 

WashingtonSchool has purchased the needed materials for the 2007-2008 school year through monies raised from our Tricky Tray.

Touch Math

TouchMath is a multisensory program that uses its signature TouchPoints to engage students of all abilities and learning styles.  We are implementing this program into all of our classes.
