Goals and Objectives
Board Goals:
- To continue to improve communication (internal and external) of the Board of Education with the community, staff and administration through website, Global Connect, Genesis online, and any additional means possible.
- To broaden board member awareness by attending workshops above the minimum requirement in our continuing effort to increase our knowledge and expertise in board related matters.
- To select a new superintendent of schools that meets or exceeds the criteria established by the Board of Education
District Goals:
1. To improve the percent of students seeking a formal higher education degree
2. To improve staff utilization of the technology resources that are available to them
3. To address curriculum needs in Math and Language Arts
4. To implement and monitor a district approach to improve writing skills
5. To monitor student achievement in SAT prep classes through SAT scores
6. To improve student achievement as follows:
a. That the percentage of students scoring in the proficient and advance proficient categories on all state tests improves
b. To develop strategies to improve the performance of classified and limited English proficient students so that the mean scores tied to standardizing testing show improvement
c. To interpret results of standardized testing to identify areas of need and develop an action plan to address those needs
7. To continue to improve efforts to become more environmentally friendly.
